I am just back from the EIHL championships in Nottingham. Cardiff Devils beat Belfast Giants 5-0 in the first semifinal on Saturday, and met Nottingham Panthers in the final yesterday. Nottingham were leading 3-0 when the Devils managed to peg one back at the end of the second period. At the end of the third, whenthe teams were tied at 3-3 and so we went into dreaded overtime!! Incredibly both sides had a goal disallowed in OT – with a player within the goal area deemed to be interfering with the netminder!! After 32 minutes of OT the Panthers put away the winning goal. Although very disappointing we were glad to hear the final whistle as we were all exhausted!! It was the end to a truly brilliant weekend of hockey!
